A modern lantern!

With the In Vitro collection, Philippe Starck wanted to create a series of lamps based on two archetypal shapes from the world of lighting: the lantern and the light bulb. One of these lamps has become the In Vitro Unplugged, a stylised rechargeable lantern/table lamp.

This rechargeable lantern not only looks contemporary, it also features the latest LED technology, Edge Lighting, with an optical sensor for dimming the light to 4 levels.  The LEDs are built into the top of the In Vitro Unplugged and reflect their light onto the end of the bulb, making it look like it is shining upwards from there.

Charge the In Vitro and take it with you through the house or into the garden. The In Vitro table lamp is fully equipped for outdoor use, thanks to a chemical conversion process used to treat the aluminium and the waterproof finish.

The In Vitro Unplugged table lamp is finished with a powdercoating, whereby you can choose from 7 different colours: white, forest green, light green, deep brown, terracotta, black and anthracite.
