We also never use paraffin wax as it is an oil byproduct. - OUR METAL STAPLES DISINTEGRATE INTO SOIL OVER TIME- Only metal staples can keep the starters rolled while they burn which is what enables their long burn times. Unfortunately, plant-based fasteners either release chemicals when they burn or they burn up too soon. Please do not remove the staples and don’t worry, our staples won’t last forever. Our non-galvanized, non-stainless steel staples begin rusting after the starter burns and will naturally disintegrate into soil over the next 2-5 years.
